Restoring a WordPress Installation and Database in Your IONOS account

With the integrated backup function, you can restore your WordPress installation and the associated database right in your IONOS account with just a few clicks. This article describes how to do this.
Starting the Recovery
- Log in to your IONOS account.
- Click on Menu > Websites & Stores in the title bar. The overview page for your WordPress project opens.
Alternatively: If you have several contracts, select the desired WordPress contract by clicking on the Manage website button on the corresponding tile. - Click on the Backups tab. A list of available backups is displayed. One backup is created per day, for a maximum of the last seven days.
- Click on Restore in the line with the desired backup. A message is displayed.
- Click on Start restore. Your WordPress project will begin to be restored.
It may take a few minutes to restore your WordPress installation and database. During this time, your website will be unavailable. Once the process is complete, you will receive an email to the contact address stored in IONOS account.
Please note that any changes you have made since the selected restore date will be overwritten by the backup. This also applies to comments and orders in a store system.
