Managing website projects in your IONOS account
Please use the “Print” function at the bottom of the page to create a PDF.
Your internet projects, whether websites or shops, are clearly displayed in your IONOS account under the menu item Websites & shops . In this overview, you can start new projects with your IONOS contracts or manage existing projects.
You can create the following website projects:
- IONOS Domain with an externally connected service, e.g. Wix or Facebook
- IONOS Domain that is connected to an IONOS webspace
- Domain with another hosting provider
Launch an IONOS website project
- Log in to your IONOS account.
- Click on Menu > Websites & stores in the title bar. An overview page with website projects that have already been created opens.
- Click on the Create new website or store button.
- Select the tile with the desired project type, e.g. WordPress for a content management system (CMS).
- Follow the installation instructions to carry out the basic setup.
Please note that some web projects require the ordering of an additional IONOS contract. Order processes will only be carried out with your express consent.
Add an external website project
To add an external website project, i.e. a domain or a shop with another hosting provider:
- Carry out steps 1, 2 and 3 of the previous section Launch an IONOS website project.
- Scroll down to the bottom of the overview page.
- On the Organize all your website projects tile, click on the Add existing website button.
- Enter the internet address of a domain that is not included in your IONOS contracts and start the process with Add website.
After a brief check, the website will be added to your projects. You can recognize external web projects in the overview by the label Self-managed.
