Create image descriptions (alt text) with Artificial Intelligence
Please use the “Print” function at the bottom of the page to create a PDF.
Alt text (also known as "alt attribute" or "alt tag") is used to describe images on websites. MyWebsite Now uses Artificial intelligence (AI) to help you automatically create alt text for all the images you use in your website project. This article explains how to do this.
Note
Alt text creation with AI is not included in all MyWebsite Now packages.
Why is alt text used?
Alt text is used in the HTML code of a website mainly for search engines and screen reader applications:
Search engines: Image descriptions can increase the relevance of a website. More relevant websites are displayed higher up in search results, and can bring in more traffic.
Read-aloud applications: Blind or visually impaired individuals use read-aloud applications to better understand the content of a website. The alt text of an image is displayed in addition to the normal text.
