Setting Reverse Mapping for a Dedicated IP Address

Learn how to set up reverse mapping for the IP addresses of your Linux or Windows Dedicated Servers.
Reverse mapping is particularly important when setting up your own mail server.
Note
As no fixed IP addresses are assigned to Web Hosting contracts and Managed-servers, these instructions are not applicable to these product groups.
- Log in to your IONOS account.
Click Menu > Server & Cloud in the title bar.
Optional: Select the desired Server & Cloud contract.Server Management opens
- Click on IP addresses.
- Click on the IP address for which you want to set the reverse entry.
- Click on the gear icon and then select Reverse mapping.
- Now enter the domain for which the entry is to be set in the Domain field and then click on Save.

It may take up to 72 hours for the settings to be visible on the Internet. Further information can be found in the article Duration of DNS Changes.
