    This article explains how to change the password in the backup console or alternatively in the Acronis Cyber Protect app.

    Changing Your Password in the Backup Console

    To set a new password for the backup console, follow the steps below:

    • Log in to your IONOS account.
    • Click Menu > Server & Cloud in the title bar. If you have multiple contracts, select the desired Server & Cloud contract.

    • In the Cloud Panel, click Backup > Backup package in the navigation bar on the left.

    • There is a backup console for Europe as well as for the USA. To open the desired backup console, click on the Access to the backup console link in the Administration > Europe or Administration > USA section.

     

    • Click on Manage account at the top left.

    • Click on Company Management and then on Users.

    • In the Name column, move the mouse pointer over the empty area that appears to the right of the user name. Three dots are then displayed.

    • Click on the three dots. A menu is displayed.

    • Click on Reset password.

    • Click on Reset.

      An email with further instructions will be sent to your email address.

    • Open the email and click on Change password.

    • Enter the desired password and repeat it.

    • Click on SET NEW PASSWORD.

    The password is saved. You can then log in directly to the backup console at the URL https://backup.ionos.com/login using the email address and password you entered.

    Changing Your Password in the Acronis Cyber Protect App

    • Open the Acronis Cyber Protect app on your mobile device.

    • Tap Settings at the bottom right.

    • Make a note of the login name that is displayed on the Settings screen. This appears directly under the heading and has the ending .admin.

    • To log out, tap the symbol with the arrow pointing to the right at the top right.

    • Tap Sign out.

      The Sign in with Acronis account screen is displayed.

    • Enter the login name.

    • Tap Sign in.

    • Tap on Forgot password?

    • Tap on Send.

      You will receive an email with instructions on how to reset your password.

    • Open the email.

    • Tap on Change password.

    • Enter a new password.
