Creating a touch icon
Please use the “Print” function at the bottom of the page to create a PDF.
Touch icons are shown on smartphones and tablets when a bookmark for a website is placed directly on the home screen (start screen) of the mobile device. This article explains how to create and integrate touch icons.
Tip
The IONOS favicon generator also creates touch icons. You can read more about the favicon generator in the Help Center article "Create favicon".
Create a touch icon
- Create an image in PNG format with at least 310x310 pixels using an image editing program of your choice, or use an existing graphic, for example, your company logo.
- Open the IONOS favicon generator. This will help you to convert the image into the required format
- Upload your source file via the Image upload tab. All formats are automatically generated and provided as a ZIP file.
- Download the ZIP file to your computer using the Download button. In the ZIP file you will find a text file with instructions for integrating the generated touch icons or favicons.
Use a touch icon with MyWebsite
After creating a touch icon:
- Click on Settings in the main menu of your MyWebsite editor.
- Select the Website Icons category in the settings.
- Upload the desired touch icon in the Favicon and website app icon area.
Use a touch icon with older MyWebsite products
After you have created a touch icon:
- In your MyWebsite, click on Settings in the main menu.
- In the Adjust Advanced Settings area, click on Favicon and Touch Icon.
- Upload the touch icon.
