Migration of Private EU or UK Customers with ionos.com Accounts

Why is this change necessary?
With the changes regarding EU Geoblocking regulations, we’re now able to allow EU and UK customers from all EU/UK countries to receive our services from all of our European companies - fast, reliably, and with the strong support from our EU and UK Customer Service teams.
Accordingly, we’d like to move all customers with an EU or UK billing address and contact details to their respective EU/UK IONOS market.
What do I have to do?
Depending on your situation and needs, different options are available to you, and for some of these options, a certain action is necessary from you.
We have listed the main options below along with an explanation of exactly what you need to do.
What are my options?

4 | You are a business customer with a valid EU/UK VAT ID |
You can keep your ionos.com account, but you need to switch to a business account before 01/15/2023. To do so, please contact Customer Service who will be able to process the update. You need to provide a valid EU/UK VAT ID.Of course, you are also free to switch to an EU/UK account. If you would like to do so, please refer to the process described under option 6 below. | To change your account from Personal to Business, you will need to fill out the Account Change Request Form. Please note that you must include your EU/UK VAT ID when returning the form to process@ionos.com to get invoices without VAT applied. - Back up your data to avoid the loss of any important content/data. - Check the offers from the appropriate EU/UK IONOS website and choose the right one for you. - While placing the new order with the EU/UK IONOS market, enter a valid EU or UK VAT ID to get invoices without VAT applied. - Migrate the contents of your ionos.com contracts to the new EU/UK contracts. 6 | You are an EU or UK resident, but you still want to stay with IONOS |
- Place a new order with an EU or UK IONOS market (Germany / United Kingdom / France / Spain / Italy) and enter the valid EU/UK VAT ID at the time of order. - Transfer the contents of your ionos.com contracts to the new EU/UK contracts. |

This change represents additional work on my part while my site is already working very well. Is there an advantage to staying with IONOS?
We invite you to contact IONOS Customer Service in order to better understand the possible options and what they could mean for you technically and financially. This will allow you to decide whether this migration to IONOS EU/UK is the best option for you or not.
Will I lose any included features or add-ons purchased for my contract?
You cannot keep your current contract if you do not have a valid address outside of the EU/UK or a valid EU/UK VAT ID. If you want to save your data, you need to back up everything you wish to keep (websites, email, databases, etc.).
If you want to move to an EU/UK IONOS market, it is possible that you may not find the exact same version of the product you are currently using, so you may lose some features while gaining others. However, we cannot give you more specific information here as it depends on which new contract you select and which contract you are currently using.

Will my websites, email, and domains still be available during the switch from ionos.com to IONOS EU/UK?
If you want to order a contract with an EU or UK IONOS market and transfer your content/data, you will need to do so manually. With proper planning, the downtime of your website and email addresses can be entirely negligible.
If you want to order a contract with an EU or UK IONOS market and transfer your content/data, you will need to do so manually. So you need to plan the work quickly before the cancellation of your ionos.com account in order to anticipate the cut-off and to not have a period without a website.
I need more time to check the different offers, decide what will fit with my needs, and complete the various migrations. Can I get more time?
Unfortunately, the migration has to be completed by 01/31/2023, and we cannot make any exceptions.
I have already paid my contract for a billing cycle that extends beyond the migration due date. Will I lose my money?
After the cancellation date, you will receive the final invoice which will close your contract definitively. In cases of overpayment, this will appear on the final invoice, and we will automatically process any refund due.
If you already paid for a year of domain registration, this fee cannot be refunded. However, the domain will remain registered to you throughout the paid registration period.
