Import Access Database into MSSQL Database

Learn how to transfer data from an Access database to an MSSQL database.
This allows you to transfer your locally managed data to an MSSQL database without having to re-enter the data.
Upload the Access File
Upload your access files using FTP into the _db_import directory in your webspace.
Please note: It is important that the files are stored in this directory, otherwise you will not be able to perform the import in the next section.
Import the Data
You must Create a MSSQL Database first, or have an existing database in order to perform the import.
- Log in to IONOS.
- Select Hosting and then click Manage within the MSSQL Databases section.
- Click the Import button at the bottom-right of the page.
- Select the Database name that will accept the imported data, and the File name of the import file. Select MDB as the file format.
- Click Import to begin the import process.
The import task is queued and you can check the status in the Import Progress section of the page.
