Setting Up Protected Directories

For Web Hosting & Cloud Hosting packages

You can protect directories in your webspace. This will ensure that access to a section of your website is only possible after a password is entered.

Log in to IONOS and choose the Hosting category. If necessary, choose the relevant contract.
Select the menu (gear) icon in the Webspace panel and select Protected directories.
Click New User.
Enter a the password protection settings:

Field	Input
User name	Enter a username, if none is assigned
Password	Enter a password
Repeat password	Enter the password again
Description	(Optional) Enter a description

Select the directories you want to protect with the password.

Click on Save.

The directory protection is now set up and will be active within a few minutes.
