Due to a change in the authentication behaviour of Microsoft 365, there have been error messages when using the WebDAV protocol since the beginning of 2024. This happens when you use Microsoft 365 Office applications to access data stored in HiDrive.
Background to the change
For security reasons, Microsoft has decided that Microsoft 365 applications, e.g. Excel and Word, will block the "Basic Authentication" standard. The WebDAV protocol uses basic authentication and is therefore denied access.

Continue to use Microsoft 365 with HiDrive
To continue using files saved with Microsoft 365 Office applications in HiDrive, use the HiDrive app. The app uses a different authentication procedure and is therefore not affected by the security change.
