Setting Up Microsoft Exchange® 2019 in Outlook 2019

This article explains how to set up Microsoft Exchange 2019 in Microsoft Outlook 2019. If you are using Microsoft Exchange 2019, the account is automatically detected and set up in Outlook 2019 when you enter your email address and password. At the end of this article, there are additional solutions for any problems that you may encounter.
Requirements
You have a Microsoft Exchange 2019 account.
You have created an email address in your Microsoft Exchange 2019 account.
You have downloaded and installed Outlook 2019 on your computer.
An autodiscover record has been created in the DNS settings of your domain.
Please Note
Microsoft Exchange 2019 no longer requires the Outlook Configurator. If you use Microsoft Exchange 2019 with email accounts from IONOS, they are automatically detected and set up by the Autodiscover record.

First Time Setting Up Microsoft Outlook
Open Microsoft Outlook 2019.
When you open Microsoft Outlook 2019 for the first time after the successful installation, the Select Profile window appears. Confirm the automatically set up profile by clicking OK.
Please Note
If you already created a profile for a Microsoft Exchange account in Outlook 2019 and want to use an another Microsoft Exchange account, you must create a new profile for the account you are adding.
To create a new profile, open the Control Panel. In the upper-right corner of the Display menu, click Small Icons. Then, select Mail (32-bit) or Mail.
Read and accept the license terms by clicking Agree and Start Outlook.
The Microsoft Office Activation Wizard opens. It prompts you to activate this copy of Microsoft Office.Click Next.
Click Close.
Enter the email address of your new Microsoft Exchange 2019 account.
Click Advanced Options.
Check the I want to set up my account manually option.
Click Connect.
Select the Exchange account type.
Your computer will now connect to the Exchange servers. This may take a few minutes.
You will be prompted to authorize Autodiscover to set up Outlook on your behalf. Check the Don't ask about this website in the future option and click Allow.
In the next step, enter your password.
Optional: To save the password permanently, select the Save credentials option.
Click OK. The Account Setup Complete window displays.
Click OK. Microsoft Outlook now opens.
All done! Your Microsoft Exchange account is now set up and ready to use. Depending on how much data is saved in your Exchange account, it could take some time before all of your emails, contacts, tasks, and calendar entries are available.
Setting Up an Additional Account in Microsoft Outlook 2019
The following explains how to set up a Microsoft Exchange account in Microsoft Outlook 2019 in addition to an existing POP3 or IMAP account.
Please Note
If you already created a profile for a Microsoft Exchange account in Outlook 2019 and want to use an additional Microsoft Exchange account, you must create a new profile for that additional account.
To create a new profile, open the Control Panel. In the upper-right corner of the Display menu, click Small Icons. Then select Mail (32-bit) or Mail.
To set up a Microsoft Exchange account in Microsoft Outlook 2019 in addition to an existing POP3 or IMAP account:
Open Microsoft Outlook 2019.
Click File > Information > + Add Account.
Enter the email address of your new Microsoft Exchange 2019 account.
Click Advanced Options.
Check the I want to configure my account manually option.
Click Connect.
Select the Exchange account type.
Your computer will now connect to the Microsoft Exchange servers. This may take a few minutes.
The following message appears:
By adding a new Microsoft Exchange account, you have changed the location for some of your new email messages and calendar information.
Click OK.
You are prompted to authorize Autodiscover to set up Microsoft Outlook on your behalf. Select the Do not ask for this site in the future option.
Click Allow.
Enter your password and click OK.
Optional: To save the password permanently, select the Save credentials option.
Click OK. The Account Setup Complete window displays.
Click OK.
All done! Your Microsoft Exchange account is now set up and ready to use.

Microsoft Exchange 2019 Account Autodiscover Setup Fails
If Microsoft Exchange 2019 setup fails in Microsoft Outlook 2019, check if an autodiscover record is created in the DNS settings of your domain. If necessary, create an autodiscover record if no autodiscover record exists for your domain.

Microsoft Exchange 2019 Account Cannot be Set Up Automatically Even With Correct Autodiscover Record
If you recently reordered the domain or changed the DNS settings, it may take a while for the DNS settings to update. The length of time it takes to propogate DNS records, also known as Time-to-Live or TTL, varies by the type of record and DNS provider.
