Deleting your Kik account: how it works with the link

You can only delete your Kik account from Kik Messenger in the browser using the special Kik deactivation pages. We will show you what to do.

Deactivating your Kik Account

1. Go to ws.kik.com/deactivate.
2. Enter your registered email address.
3. Click on “Go!”
4. Click the link in the deactivation email.

Deleting your Kik Account

1. Go to ws.kik.com/delete.
2. Enter your username and email address.
3. Click on “Go!”
4. Click the link in the confirmation email.

Kik Messenger is one of the many popular alternatives to WhatsApp. It’s a messenger service that can be registered for using only a username and password; it does not require a private phone number. This makes this device-independent messenger particularly practical. Those who no longer have need the messenger can delete or deactivate their Kik account.

Kik accounts that have only been deactivated can easily be reactivated by logging in again. A deleted account, however, will be removed permanently. Both deactivation and deletion can only be done in a browser, and not in the Kik app.

Step 5: Then you can choose whether you only want to deactivate the account or if you want to delete it permanently.

Step 3: You will now receive an email with a deactivation link. Click the link provided in the email to deactivate the account.

Step 3: Click the “Go!” button to delete the Kik account.

Do not forget to remove the Kik Messenger app from your device as well after you delete your account. In any case, you need to delete your Kik account first, as it is device-independent, and it is not enough to just uninstall the app.

Step 1: On Android, go to “Settings” and then to “Apps & Notifications”.

Step 2: Select the Kik Messenger app and tap “Uninstall”.
